Orlando Anderson Says He Was A Big Tupac Fan, Wants Case Solved
One year after the death of Tupac Shakur, there are still a number of projects in the works from the slain rapper.
"The New York Post" reports that several parties are vying for position to release a large number of unreleased tracks from Tupac. The film and video rights to his life story and poetry and other non-music works are also up for grabs.
So far, parties that have shown interest reportedly include Mercury Records, who may put out an album of the rapper's early recordings, and Interscope Records (Shakur's original label) who reportedly want to release at least two album's worth of songs that he recorded just before his death.
Orlando Anderson, still viewed by many in law enforcement and elsewhere as a suspect in the murder of Tupac Shakur, has told Chuck Phillips of the "Los Angeles Times" that he was a big fan of Tupac.
Anderson, who is currently the target of a wrongful death suit filed by Shakur's mother last Friday, also told the "Times" that he wishes the police would solve the case so that he could get on with his life.
Anderson himself has sued Tupac's estate and jailed Death Row Records chief Suge Knight over the Las Vegas hotel lobby beating he received hours before Tupac was shot last year. He told the "Times" that he has no idea what precipitated the scuffle, and that his injuries left him bedridden for the rest of the night.
As for the investigation into Tupac's murder, Anderson said, "I don't think the Las Vegas police have done a very good job trying to solve this case."
Las Vegas police sergeant Kevin Manning responded by calling Anderson's remarks, "quite unusual."
